"All His Benefits" from Psalm 103
"Forget not" is a command, but we are helped in this by daily "blessing the LORD" for all His benefits from "all that is in" us. "My soul" is a reminder that our praise must come from within, flowing from faith in Christ alone, and with pure motives. We are also helped by two "praise partners" in verses 20-22. Meditate on the praises of the angel hosts of heaven. What can you learn from the way they praise God? The "works" of God are also (poetically) called to praise the LORD. How do the works of God draw our attention to God's praise-worthiness? Share or write down the works of God in your life, and how each one benefited your life and eternity. Other works of God come under the following categories:
creation
conversion
completion-works
care for you
God is merciful and full of loyal loving kindness and grace. What are other character qualities of God found in this Psalm? As you list each one, share or write down how it benefits your life and eternity.
Take time to also write down the benefits listed in Psalm 103. Which ones remind you of God's grace? Which ones remind you of God's mercy? How many more can you list from your own life? Can you fill up both sides of a sheet of notebook paper with His benefits throughout your life?
For extra digging, consider these topics:
What is the benefit of God "striving" with you?
What is so sad about God discontinuing this striving work on you?
What is the benefit of our earthly lives being "short"?
What are the benefits of knowing it is short?
